Welcome to Piedmont Yarn!

Piedmont Yarn is closed for business during the mandatory COVID-19 Shelter-in-Place order. We appreciate all the helpful suggestions that people have sent us about ways we could stay open to serve you, but both Pamela and Celia feel that the spirit of the order needs to be honored. We’re not already set up for online ordering and we feel that curbside service is more than we can handle at this time. Please keep in mind that this is a temporary closure and we do not feel that we are in danger of closing permanently. For the time being, we are hunkering down, knitting at home, and waiting for the time that we can all get together again in person.

We have set up a weekly series of 4 online knitting circles and we plan to continue a schedule of 4 virtual circles a week for the duration of the shelter-in-place order. We are using Zoom, a video conferencing application that can be accessed from your smartphone, tablet, laptop, or desktop. Zoom is designed to easily connect people for online meetings, classes, and community gatherings. You may download Zoom for free and participation in our circles is free of charge. We hope you'll join us for at least one of the sessions listed below. You may join at any time during the scheduled meeting time.

All times are Pacific Daylight time. We have scheduled our meetings through the end of the shelter-in-place order. If the order is extended, we'll cross that bridge when we come to it.

For now, please stay safe, wash your hands, and stitch on!

Our Yarn

Buying yarn is a tactile experience. We carry yarn that you want to reach out and touch.  We know that you want to indulge yourself with stunning color and sumptuous texture, but we also know that you want the basics and plenty of them.  We offer a large selection of sock yarn in a wide variety of fiber content, as well as high-quality acrylic, cotton, wool, alpaca, silk, cashmere, and blended fibers for larger projects.

Our Classes

  • We have a variety of classes that are suitable for beginners to advanced fiber artists. Please click the "Classes" button above for this month's schedule.

  • Class materials are sold separately.

  • Sign up in advance! Some classes fill up early.

  • Class fees must be paid in full at the time of registration.

  • Cancellations must be made at least three days prior to the start of the class. If you need to cancel a class, you will receive store credit for the amount paid.

  • Classes with fewer than three students enrolled three days before the first class meeting will be cancelled and fees will be refunded.
