About Us My name is Bente V. Petersen and I moved away from Denmark in 1986 when I was 23. This store was inspired by many generations of Scandinavian knitters, the enjoyment of creating knitted wear and the pleasure of interacting with other knitters while working with fibers. Here is a 1888 pencil drawing of Marie Bohn, my Danish great grandmother on my father's side, knitting at the age of nine, back home in Denmark. We keep the store environment stocked with warm natural fibers, light and colorful. We also have one-of-a-kind apparel designed and created by local fiber artists. We have hats, scarves, sweaters, wraps, shawls and even swim-wear made from yarns from our store. We just love supporting our local fiber artist community.
